When is it okay to resign?

I’m new to online chess and wondering in general when it’s ok to resign. If I’m in the middle game and I’ve lost a few key pieces for example, I know there’s no chance of victory with the setup but I could keep fighting - is it bad etiquette to resign before the endgame starts and move on to the next game? Or do they just like the quick win?

It is common practice to resign when you believe your position is completely lost and you also believe your opponent is good enough to win from the position.

Just quit and move on. It won’t make that much dif to your rating in any time control if you resign early.

You can resign when you can CLEARLY see that you're losing, its bad etiquette if you play King x King Bishop and Pawn till mate, cause you know youre losing, for example. But always try to look for some draws, stalemate.

I think below 1500 there is never any point in resigning. There is always a chance of winning or at least drawing. I never resign if I can help it and I never stall just keep playing to the end.
