When is "spamming" check considered to be lame?

Hi everyone,

this is my most recent (beginner level) game I just had.

With 26. Qxe6+ ... I more or less begin to "spam" check for the next 10 moves. Basicly repeating a sequence of moves.  My opponend began to complain and, besides beeing relatively new to chess, I knew that this would be a fitting situation for a draw. However, my opponed declined my offer and made a bad move for him, just to keep the game alive.

The game ended in a bad mood for both players.

My question is how to handle this kind of situation.

It's a perfectly legitimate strategy, it's your opponents responsibility to ensure that he can meet all checks. If you can give an unstoppable series of checks when your opponent is about to win then it's a good way to save a draw.

Here just take his queen on move 26...

Your checks were probably the best moves. Your opponent was annoyed because he lost, not because of the checks.

I really don't think 26. qxe6 was the best move.
