Bishop, if you have both of them
stwils
I must admit I do like knights but it all depends on the position ... because if all the pawns are on the same side in an end game knights tend to be very useless! I am not very good with my bishops either
I would say go with the average value that guides you to better decision making.
"World Correspondence Chess Champion Hans Berliner gives the following valuations, based on experience and computer experiments:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_piece_relative_value
So, until my ability to judge a piece's relative value improves, I like to think in terms of 3 1/4 pawns per minor piece. Otherwise I might make a bad exchange like trading 2 minor pieces (3+3) for a rook and pawn (5+1) in the early middlegame.
hem so difficult to knew value the knight and bishop ?
but i think we needed to know the situation about the games
if you got the large position you have to use of the Bishop
if you got the not large position you have to use of the Knight
but it's so not easy to decide the situation Ok
Nimzovich said "Develop the Knights in open games rather than Bishops"
Ok what is the valuable in here just you and the situation
FIDE value
1.Bishops = 3 -> because this can hold the 3 Pawns
2.Knigth = 3 -> because this can hold the 3 Pawns
