Which is your favorite gambit opening?

the devils defence is fun for white e4 e5 knf3 f6? knxe5 fxe5 qh5+
I think you mean Damiano defence. I wouldn't put a question mark to f6 which, although bad, is acceptable, but to fxe5?? Black is completely busted after that.
Any gambit, in which you don't need to sacrifice any material for a 'compensation'.
If you don't sacrifice material it isn't a gambit lol.
compensation is sometimes more than enough really.
Just look at the danish gambit.

The Danish Gambit (also called Nordish Gambit, in Denmark itself, lol) gives Black at least equal chances. I believe, Black gains the advantage in all transpositions, if he plays correctly. The road to a good game for Black is easy, if you follow some healthy principles of the opening. That's why it is very rarely played on highest level (more rarely than KGA).

I think he was joking and does not like gambits
Even after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f6 3.Nxe5 fxe it is not easy to win. White can gain 2 - 3 extra pawns but initiative goes to Black. The game turn a sharp one.

I would not say it is a dangerous initiative though, plus I do not think many black players would want to be in that position
To BMeck: I agree with you, but I tried to play this positions against computer and I saw that these positions are very sharp actually.
If White play not very precisely, he (me for example :)) fall in trouble by many ways. :)

I could beat Houdini after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f6 3.Nxe5 fxe5. I am not joking.

As white or black?

As white obviously.

1.e4 e5, 2.Nf3 f6?, 3.Nxe5 fxe5?, 4.Qh5+ Ke7, 5.Qxe5+ Kf7, 6.Bc4+ d5 (Only move), 7.Bxd5+ Kg6, 8.h4! +-. Material is about equal, and there is no counterplay for Black in sight. 8....h6, 9.Bxb7! Winning material, since 9....Bxb7??, 10.Qf5 is mate. Or 8....h5, 9.Bxb7!, and again the bishop cannot be taken in view of 9....Bxb7, 10.Qf5+ Kh6, 11.d4 g5, 12.Bxg5+ Kg7, 13.Bxd8.
In other words, after 1.e4 e5, 2.Nf3 f6 White is winning.

Sorry, I meant after the moves 1.e4 e5, 2.Nf3 f6, 3.Nxe5 fxe5? White is winning.
Much better than 3....fxe5 is 3....Qe7, 4.Nf3. However, White has a large advantage after both 4... Qxe4+, 5.Be2 , or 4....d5, 5.d3 dxe4, 6.dxe4 Qxe4+, 7.Be3, because Black falls very much behind in development.
