I’ve heard some chess players insist that they like their knights to face to the left when they’re setting up the board (I think Kasparov was one). But which way do your bishops face? Does the frowny tug-boat mouth face forwards, backwards, to the side, etc.?

And for that matter, which way should knights face?

The knight thing is from old notation, the knights face the king so you can tell witch is queen knight and witch is king knight. Bishops aren’t like that because you have dark and light squared bishop.

Both of my Bishops face away from Rome because they just got here.
