Vishy IS Awesome in rapid games as well as classic! also he has + records against carlsen in classic games!

Anand started playing Carlsen when Magnus was 16 though.

age doesn't matter! don't forget late bobby fisher played game of the century at age 12 and won!

I'm pulling for Vishy, but think it won't happen as Carlsen is just too talented.

It does matter. Carlsen made a lot of progress since he was 16.

Did you just see Anand v/s Carlsen in Tal Memorial,Anand was beaten like he was a 1200 level player..He crushed Levon Aronian in the final of Sinquefield Cup(~2810)...Surely Carlsen will win

I hope Carlsen wins. He seems a good chap. I like him.

...and finished in the bottom half of a rather weak tournament while doing it, aged 13. :-) Several years later he scored 0-4 in four games against Tal in the Candidates and I think his age had something to do with both those results.

I agree. Carlsen's win over Aronian from a 'drawn position' (as Levon, computers, and everyone else called it) in the last game of the Sinquefield Cup proves Magnus is in a league of his own. Vishy will have to pull out all the stops to have a chance.

no matter who wins the championship, history will be made in november.

if carlsen wins , then he will be crowned as "the king of chess". (or be given some powerful title )

if anand wins, then he will be praised for holding his title against such a stronger opponent and will gain more respect from general chess public.

however i woud like to see anand win .

Viswanathan Anand wins. No way will Anand shame his own home country with defeat of the title.

Anand beat Gelfand, Topolov, and Kramnik.  I think Carlson gets added to the list.

Carlsen beat Kasparov, Karpov, and Anand. I don't see why he could not repeat what he has already masterfully done in the past. The only difference now is he is stronger, wiser and more experienced.

Carlsen will win convincingly. I would estimate the chances at something like 75%/25%.

The only way Anand wins is if he plays better than he has in years WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY Carlsen plays worse than he has in years.

not true!

I think Carlsen will win but I hope Anand because I for some reason don't like prodigies. I think it's because I feel they get to much attention. There's probably more but it's hard for me to explain in words.

I'm a Carlsen fan, but I don't think Anand has ever gotten as much respect for his accomplishments as he deserves, so I'm hoping Anand wins. I expect Carlsen to win though.

Easily Carlsen.

Carlsen never beat Kasparov. He drew and lost one game against him.
