Who is the aka "Bent Larsen" of this generation?

I don't think anyone in the top 5 today matches that.  Gashimov has been known to play the Benoni which is very rare at high levels... he's in the top 20... he's the closest that comes to mind.

morozevich is a very attacking player who plays a decent amount of offbeat stuff. he uses the albin counter gambit for instance which is even more rare than the benoni!

definitely Morozevich if you're talking about openings (although he actually used the albin only in a rapid/blindfold event). He has played a lot of crazy stuff over the years, and he has been as high as number 2 in the world rankings (if i remember correclty) a few years ago. Ivanchuk also comes to mind.

Morozevich and Ivanchuk have inherited the Larsen mantle, but the one elite

player who is most likely to play 1.f4 or 1.b3 is Hikaru Nakamura. 

Also, watch out for Maxim Vachier-Lagrave! He plays quite a few baroque lines and was Junior World Champion in 2009.

Doh, how could I forget about Nakamura's opening oddities :p

I'm not aware of Ivanchuk playing odd openings (maybe he does, I'm just not aware of it), although he is a very creative player I've heard.

He doesn't usually play odd openings, but tons of very unusual subvariations of popular openings. And rarely the same variation twice  It is sometimes said that people doesn't prepare for him anymore since guessing what line he is going to play is close to impossible.
