I have a list of favorite players. They include Rubinstein, Schlechter, Smyslov, Tal, Ulf Andersson, Kasparov and Kramnik.

Some of my favorite young players include Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Hou Yifan. I'm also looking forward to see how both Caruana and Giri mature as chess players. They are both fantastic talents and I'm rooting for them both!

Capablanca and Spassky, because of their personalities. Calm and composed under stress , with sprezzatura I envy.

ViktorHNielsen

Morphy, since he actually used gambits in his main repertoire, unlike most other world players.

i dont like both personalites, Capablanca if im correctly informed was a show off (yes i know with his chess strenght he really could afford it) and Spassky do you know that he would have actually starved to death if someone wouldnt have feeded him and trained him chess?? And he just betrayed him and went to a better teacher, well at least thats what i read i dont know if its true though.

I was talking about how they appeared during a game, and I like that. I don't know about the betrayal, that is not good of course.  They had an easy air during games that I like. I don't like to see the stress and the torture of chessplayers Smile

I should read their lives though. You got me thinking.
