"The player with the white pieces shall receive 5 minutes, the player with the black pieces shall receive 4 minutes "
Typo? Must be the other way around. If not then what is p with the choosing after the lot? I'll choose black- no wait! white. hmm..

Topalov, Where art thou? Carlsen, Where art thou? Annand and Gelfland, two very smart, goodwilling but way too carefull men are not giving us a match to watch and love.
No attacking, but only safe exchanges. No sacrifices, but non-comittal moves. Computer preparation is very interesting in itself, but it is no fun to watch. Chess deserves an exiting World Championship. 2013, Topalov - Carlsen, please.
The one with the higher IQ will win.
implying who?
That's a highly intelligent question. How high is yours ?
don't have to claim atleast amid speculations, for certaint among both of us who amassed a higher rate. then you guess who?
Of course we have to speculate, as long as somebody shuns the REAL (FischeRandom) chess.
Your FRC rating: N/A
mine: 1434
Classical chess is for pussies.
With Gelfand as white today I predict that the chances today's game will have a winner is 0% :-)

If You think that let us play a game_unrated if you wish, at least you are not a pussy right? just one game
Unrated ? Do I look like chickensh*t ?
We play one classical and one FRC. Both RATED. Do we have a deal ?
The Chess960 rating slot and classical are completely separate from another. If you lose 960 then your classical stays the same. But OK, I create one rated classical and one unrated 960.
3.7.2 If the scores are level after the games in Article 3.7.1a, then, after a new drawing of colors, a match of 2 games shall be played with a time control of 5 minutes plus 3 seconds increment after each move. In case of a level score, another 2-game match will be played to determine a winner. If still there is no winner after 5 such matches (total 10 games), one sudden-death game will be played as described below in Article 3.7.3.
3.7.3 If the score is still level after five matches as described in Article 3.7.2, the players shall play a one sudden death game. The player who wins the drawing of lots may choose the color. The player with the white pieces shall receive 5 minutes, the player with the black pieces shall receive 4 minutes whereupon, after the 60th move, both players shall receive an increment of 3 seconds from move 61. In case of a draw the player with the black pieces is declared the winner.
Blitz games FTW
The better player: Anand.
He got nothing as white in the first game (actually he is a tad worse), but I'm sure he will win in the long run.
looks like most of us understimated gelfand.
Maybe Anand underestimated as well?

Hey guys, the battle may have been over but the war isn't.
Vishy resorted to cheap tricks today, and Gelfy blundered badly. Utterly unlikely to save himself.
EDIT: He just resigned as early as move 17.

Game on. Good luck.
Good luck to you either.
Maybe, they should lower the prize money for both players by the percentage of the total games drawn. For example, if they play 10 games, with 9 draws and only 1 win to determine the winner, then the prize money would be reduced by 90%, whatever the prize money is for the winner. 1 million would be reduced to 100k for the winner. I think we would see less draws if they do that.
waffllemaster haha, see post 114.
