Why am I not improving?

I do lots of tactics. That's all I need to get to 2000, right? But I feel like I'm not improving... I just don't get how I'm supposed to improve tactically by doing lots of tactics. Is plain tactics really the best training for low rated players?

You can see your performance in tactics at this URL: https://www.chess.com/stats/tactics/BeepBeepImA747

You can see your weaknesses and improve on those. You can solve tactics related to specific themes by applying filters (at chess.com/tactics).

It's not enough to solve tactics. You should study the tactics where you failed and improve your accuracy.

If your accuracy is not improving then it doesn't matter if you've solved 500 tactics or 5000. You will hit a plateau.

Your overall accuracy is 65% which is good. Try to increase it to 70% and then to 75%.

- long time ago - there were just books and coaches - NOW - the whole level of players and the playing field is upped - sir winston churchill invented the horse racing handicap odds think - if two horse race horse a and horse b - if everyone bets on horse a the pay off is low - no one betting on b makes him a long shot high odds - long time ago when online chess started all of us chess players we slow horses - now the average players now are much much better players - faster horses - internet - world class lessons - players in the past only had books and coachs - same sort happened in tennis - girl practised drills 24/7 with ball machines and great coach - she dominated for a time - girl trying that now would disappear in the dust because all girls going competitive do that now - when she did it she was the only one doing that - so I think a 1200 player then is not a 1200 player now - chicken pecking order - low is still low - but the entire field of the worlds chess players has ALL increased in skill level - blame the internet

spend 4 years studying chess 24/7  in 4 years you might get what ? who knows 1700 ?

spend 4 years studying accounting or computer programming in four years you might get ?

This player isn't doing too badly. If a player has more wins than losses then he's doing fairly well which is good.
