happens to me too but i have taught myself to think out every move i do
Sometimes if I lose (in OTB), I feel so bad and dumb. It seems like I am seeing ghosts every time in the simplest positions.
I got into a position like this:
Instead, I played Rxg7??????? Kxg7 Qh3 and now Rh8 is possible. I obv saw directly playing Qh3 sequence, but I somehow miscalculated the counterattack of my opponent. I was so dumb that I thought black had an extra tempo and Rh8+ wouldn't be a check or smth. Then I suddenly played Rxg7 without even properly calculating. It just happens sometimes automatically, I don't know what to do.
