Why are so many players from the Vatican City on this site.

70% of them are liars
50% are liars, 30% are tourists who decided to sign up there, 20% are genuine people who live there
that's an interesting point. Millions of people visit the Sistine chapel and other famous sites in Vatican city every year. 1000 would be a very very small number of tourists that decided to create an account while they were there.

In fact, I could just change my flag to Zimbabwe. Am I Zimbabwean? hell no. On other websites, people change their countries to other things too, do you really think they're actually from North Korea?

The Staff, rightly so, does not care about flags so far, you can put anything like North Korea although chess.com is banned in North Korea.
Vatican is used by religious people for instance, isn't it? Some flags aren't countries like Catalogne which is part of Spain or Basque which is part of France and Spain. Don't expect non Europeans to be sentitive to this

i find it highly unlikely that you'd want to make a chess.com account instead of taking pictures of the sistine chapel on your vacation to the vatican, 1000 is probably an accurate estimate
