Why can't I see tactics?

My tactics rating on chess.com is higher than most of my opponents' on chess.com. Why does it seem that I am always less sharp tactically than my opponents?

Seeing a tactic when you know something is there is different than when you have a position on the board that may or may not have one.
Repetition will hopefully get you to a point where you will start to recognize when the seeds of a tactic are in a game and you will either see the patterns or be able to calculate them more easily.
