You ran out of time.
You ran out of time.
Oops, does that mean each player has a certain amount of time to make their move before they lose?
I just played my first game also. I also lost/ ran out of time. I'm clicking all over the sight, and I've done several google queries, trying to find out the rules. (I know how to play chess, but I don't know how to play here). This question as it stands is un answered to me. What happens when your time runs out? Do you loose simply for having your time run out? Or is it based on some kind of scoring system, like you gained/ lost points per piece capturing etc.?
As a rule, if you run out of time, you lose. There are a few exceptions, but that's the general rule. Those of us who have been playing a long time forget that none of this is obvious to new players.
When you start a game in Live Play, you will see a digital clock next to your name and your opponent's name. they will count down, showing you how much time you have remaining.
Hi.
This is my first day playing chess in my life, so pardon my ignorance.
I've played a game, and I lost.
This is how the game ended.
I'm not so familiar with the rules yet, but neither of us lost their king. So why did I lose?
Thanks in advance.
