Why do many people quit after losing their queen?

In my case, I'll resign just because the odds of me getting a win become miniscule, no matter what I think about how they got my Queen, usually, by the way, not because their play was 'awesome' but because I blundered... "Oh no, my Queen!".

If lose means really "lose" it.. not a planned sacrifice, and there is no visible compensation possible, it's best to move on.

They probably resign because they just lost their best piece and for the people that resign in those situations, I don’t recommend resigning. Just like SarvendraTS said, you still have plenty of useful pieces including the pawns. I recommend playing on because what if your opponent makes a mistake? What if they quit and resign for no reason? I also don’t understand why people from all around the world do this. Chess is like life, you gotta be up one day and down one day, but no matter what, you just gotta keep going.

It depends, I guess, on how much you care about avoiding a loss. If my life is on the line, my motto is, never give up, never say die. If it's a game, not so much.

that question has already been asked and I replied. do you happen to be a chat bot by any chance?

spacecatchess2007

they have already lost the queen, but dont want to lose the king

Because without your queen you have a very small chance of winning so continuing to play is honestly just a waste of time.

They resign because they think the game is lost and don't want to spend more time on the lost game.

Which sometimes is not true. I myself remember being down two rooks and a bishop and finding a back-rank mate happy.png.

Usually, I resign if I lose too much material if I am just devastated emotional by the game and how my position looks. Sometimes, if I feel okay about it, I play on. My opponent is about the same level as me, so what if they blunder too?

Robbos_Heir
I usually resign when I blunder a pawn.

Usually when I lose my Queen it's because I failed to see something I should have, no excuse just bad, bad playing. At that point I resign out of self-loathing.
