why do so many people want massive amount of friend requests?

If you put your mind in my shoes(it's an expression, please don't confuse for anything else
)
you will probably find that It's very vexatious when I see many people begging for people to send them a friend request. And at least once in a blue moon, it becomes frustrating. Remember friend requests are meant to be accepted only if you know them in self and not beg people to send you a friend request to show-off that you have a trillion(practical joke) friends. I have got around 2-7 messages only to attain that they need me to send a friend request.
As a forum I want this accomplish and spread a message to everyone that give people some free space and only send friend requests if they accept you.
