why do so many reject a second game especially if they loose?

I've been asked if I go back to Vietnam sure with a bomber and 4 nuclear weapons; if the game is evenly matched you should play.

You're pathetic.  Learn how to spell.

Couldn't find some more relevant complaint about the OP than his spelling?

Too many threads have been made about this nonsense and the feeling of entitlement torwards getting a rematch.  The points were already made no need to repeat them.  Calling him pathetic just needed to be said.

Can't disagree with any of this. What you said here is much better than saying something about his spelling.

To be honest, somebody who speaks english as a first language, and mispells a 4 letter word deserves to be shamed.

Okie. You got me. Which word was spelled incorrectly?

If you need me to tell you which word then it seems you're just as pathetic lol.

Misspelling misspells as mispells, oh the irony lolol

Hahaha.  I didn't even realize it.  In my defense it was a typo.  Still funny though.  Oops.

Loose is spelled correctly but its the wrong word for what the OP is talking about . The correct word is  " lose " .  It seems to me that lots of people don't know the difference between   lose  and  loose and thats a condemnation of the education they got , or failed to get .  You lose a chess game , you do not loose a chess game .

lolololol.  Whheeewww.  Thank god you made that clarification as to the difference between loose and lose.  I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say I was losing sleep at night waiting for someone to put it all together!!  I can breath much easier now thank you so much.

badger_song

If I win as white, and I have no pressing events to attend to,I almost always accept a rematch. If I win as black I don't feel obliged to accept a rematch, but still accept many offers.

buddy3

Maybe have the program altered so that you are forced to play your opponent over and over until they decide to let you go, and, while we're at it legally force people to say god bless you when you sneeze to make a more pleasant society. Who could find fault with that?

glamdring27

Yeah, forced rematch is surely the way to go.  So from the moment you join chess.com you only ever play one opponent in live chess and even when you logoff, it just kicks off again against the same opponent when you next login.

This got to be the 100th thread about this subject. Cry

For me i need a little break sometimes

My rating suggests I play "loose".

Very entertaining thread!

The next poor soul who dares start a thread on this subject better wear a fire proof suit.

Don't worry, this is a topic that never dies and is re-born quite often in a new thread.

Priteshrp87

it all depends on a person's mindset. different people have different mindsets & each mindset controls many reasons combined. plain & simple...

Maybe it's because they think you're too wimpy to do anything about it. How do you feel about that theory?

Nick_Lee

I usually accept a rematch only when:

1) I've won and I'm confident of winning again (when the opponent isn't too weak)

2) I've lost but I'm confident of winning this time because I made a huge silly blunder the previous

3) I've lost but I'm confident of striking a draw at least

So if the opponent is way too strong for me, I would just turn them down. Also, I agree that poor sportmanship and very weak players are a turn off too.
