Why do some speed chess players seem to not need adrenaline?

I'm watching Andrew Tang and he seems so oddly chilled. How does that work? I CANNOT play hyperbullet or ultrabullet competently while calm. I just forget to move my pieces fast enough, lack aggression etc. I have to go at least a little bit berserk.

How come some people can play it while completely laid back? What 'pathway' are they using instead?

Good players like sir tang perceive enough of what is happening on the board to feel in control 99% of the time. Believe it or not, even in ultra adrenaline hurts more than it helps.

For me I just play and just out music in my head and just stay calm

Really? I definitely find chugging some caffeine and having an adrenaline rush helps.

That's impressive honestly. I definitely find my performance goes up or down with my adrenaline levels. I can have a huge rush and win 8 games then come down off it and lose 8.
