Why does Chess.com allow people to spam rematch requests?

If I decline a rematch request, that should be the end of it, I should not get another rematch offer from the same person, at least until I've played another game. But the way it works now, people can send how many even rematch requests they want one after the other, it's so f*king annoying.

And another thing, if I decline a rematch offer and seek a new game, I expect not be paired with the same person again. Why doesn't Chess.com get this?

You do really seem to be stuck in a rut. All your games for the last week were against the same person.

I am guessing that part of the problem is that you mostly play unrated. Those matches have to use custom seeks and aren't seen by many people since most people don't look at the Seek Graph any more.

If you tried rated games, and changed your opponent occasionally, you'd probably have more luck avoiding spammed rematch requests.

It is annoying when you click decline and then that sound keeps popping up because the person keeps requesting rematch.  Should only allowed to be offer one rematch; I agree.

Exactly this.

You need to start playing rated games. There are only a very few people that seek unrated games and when you issue an unrated challenge, it is visible under the "open challenges" section of this website, and a person can choose to play with you and spam you with rematches easily. You are severely underrated atm so playing rated games would not only give you a wider spectrum of challenges but it would also give you a truer idea of your rating. Ratings also provide an extra motivation for improvement. Furthermore, if there's a really annoying person that spams you with rematches request then there's always this option to block them.

Block ‘em. I do.

Let me keep it short and sweet:

Programmers are logical by nature.

Business majors aren't.

But business majors sign the paychecks, so there's a lot of stupid shit in the world.

(and a lot of morons with big bank accounts)

Hope that helps.
