We will most likely remove it once our Live Chess platform is feature complete and stable.
Why does chess.com still have the beta symbol

Why does chess.com still have the beta symbol, it seems to be a professional, well-working site, because even though you add stuff every once in a while, it is still a stable well tuned site, it doesnt need the beta symbol...
When I saw this, I thought "W W W What?"

Then I took a look at your profile and saw that you have only played one game on live chess. I think your sample (one game) is not enough, on which to form an opinion. I am on live chess quite often (moderator), and let me be honest with you, the site has connection issues. Some users struggle to get a game finished, the disconnection rate has been a source of much annoyance for all concerned. I can see that if you didn't disconnect yourself, then the site looks good to go, certainly most desirable user features are present and correct. I'm hopeful that the chess.com staff will sort this out in the near future, but until then it's definitely beta.

Well, Ray_Brooks, I feel that chess.com is quite production-ready (the quality of the system is also quite impressive imho), and even though Live Chess is still in beta, this particular feature could be tagged "beta" instead of the whole chess.com platform.
I'm not arguing, I really don't care about the beta suffix, you can think of this post as an excuse for a compliment to people participating to chess.com's back end!
Oh, and there are more than meet the eye when speaking about adding "beta" to a logo! You can take a look at this: http://rallenhome.com/essays/essay4.html#_Toc122233556ย or other similar articles related to the usage of Beta and the Web 2.0 hype.

Yes I agree, the main site is ready... guess I was talking about the live chess (the only activity for which a stable connectiion is critical). I'm a big fan of Chess.com and would not set out to "bad mouth" the site.
