I've never noticed those testimonials before. Do you think something like that can be taken seriously?
Why does Chess.com use a fake testimonial???
Probably not. Just people who have gone to college to study business and marketing, realize that they didn't even need to go through all that trouble and realize that all you need, is a photo, a name, and type something positive about the site that will sell memberships.
It's possible that the testimonies are real, but the avatars were replaced with someone who looks more appealing than the person actually giving the testimony. Although, what a terrible testimony... out of 6 million chess.com members (or whatever they're at now) the best testimonies they could get were
"Tactics trainer and Chess Mentor really help my chess skills." and
"My overall game improved a ton after I became a premium member"
@goingforyourqueen, I wouldn't stop myself from getting a premium membership just because a fake photo was used... chess.com has great features regardless, and I think it's totally worth it.
"My overall game improved a ton after I became a premium member"
That must be his "before" photo, before gaining all that weight as a premium member.
How about I give my own testimonial?
"I learned how to post mundane threads complaining about people who disconnect and waste my time on live chess when I became a premium member." - December_Twentynine, Member since 2012
this is immoral and should be illegal because you can not lie to the costumer .
Tell me lies, Tell me lies, Tell me sweet little lies...
@OP, I think at this point you might add these words on your avatar,
"That Peter guy is using a fake photo.
But that's none of my business"
XD
But seriously did you just recognize the actor? What prompted this search?!
Oh man! I got some LOLZ out of that comment. You really put a smile on my face, sire.
I suppose...you want me to meme it, then? ;)
Haha well anytime! XD
Yep you nailed it XD That picture always cracks me up and it's soooo approptiate for the OP XD
Ahhh the world of meeeemmmeeeessss.
My name really isn't Dodger111 and I don't really live at Cobra Command Headquarters so what's your point?
Same goes for the pictures a lot of people have on their accounts.
I'm a little PO'd at you for being so simple.

You are being very silly, for your name IS Dodger111 just as mine is December_Twentynine.
And you know what sweetheart, this thread makes me think of this: http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/why-do-chess-players-hide-behind-avatars-and-false-profiles

That's also misleading. You can easily do all of those things without becoming a premium member.
A way to decieve you perhaps? Many companies use fake reviews. One of my books has a fake review. I found the same photo online.
