Hi shravan

Siddharth05117

how are you

all fine ?

They would probably have to ask for permission to use his name. Other people who have their own celebrity bot on chess.com, are affiliated to chess.com, Magnus is not.

In vs computer section there are celebrity bots: Danny, Hikaru, Botez etc. He is asking why there isn't a bot representation of Magnus Carlsen. happy.png

does that mean that these celebrities promote chess.com??

And I was thinking this celebrity bot section was to promote chess by making students train under the guidaince of the bots of their favourite streamers/players  and a tribute to the excellence of the celibrity players

Turns out this is just a vicious cycle of buisness

The answer is they would have to pay him. You cannot use someone’s image without permission, and to get his permission you’d have to pay him.

Well, some of the streamers probably have a collaboration of sorts with chess.com. Danny Rensch, for instance, is a chief chess officer for chess.com. Magnus is tied to a competing site, and didn't play here for some time, until a few weeks ago I believe. So to have a Magnus bot here, chess.com would probably have to pay money, or it might not be possible under the circumstances.

No amount of $ would induce Magnus (why should it?) into lending his image and reputation to CC. That notion is absurd. He do it sans gratuity if it was in his best interests. He has enough $ to buy CC with chump change- no reason in lending his reputation/image when he has his own competing businesses.

No amount of money?

It all depends, but I agree that he probably wouldn't want to do it and that it is unrealistic. Except for some unexpected turn of events, I don't expect anything like it.

No amount of money. Correct. Not everybody will sell their soul at any price.

Magnus freely gives his time and energies in promoting chess. Lending his image to anyone who wants to use it as they see fit is counter- productive.

The bots portrayed, as pointed out, all represent CC personalities. A nice promotional gimmick. Highly doubtful anyway that CC would even consider using his image. Counter- productive. One already exists elsewhere.

Danny states he extends Magnus an invitation to play in all their big tournaments.
Their is no animosity between the two.

No amount of money is an expression. It’s meaning well understood by all. (Reasonable). To suggest $Billions is rather silly.
