Was there some video about it on a popular channel recently?

I've seen it a couple times today in blitz. I don't recall seeing it that much before today.

Huh. I wonder if he had a game recently where he played it.

Sounds like it is weak overall? I like to play blitz and on the wiki page it says that it allows white several opportunities to attack. Amybe just good for shorter increments.

"Amybe just good for shorter increments."

++ It is a Dutch Defence reversed, i.e. with an extra tempo.

Could just be your luck. Don’t try to explain something you see a number of times in a row. There are too many players from all over the world for this to be explainable by something like a video.

A lot of people watch chess videos and the algorithm on youtube will push certain videos. Or popular channels will have a video on certain gambits like the stafford gambit for example. I have had people do the same gambit to me repeatedly before over the course of a couple days and when I search it a popular channel will have just posted a video about it.
