Why is the "analyze" feature even an option in real games against other opponents?

You're talking "Daily" games right? This is chess.com's version of correspondence chess and the goal is to craft a near perfect game. Not meant to emulate live games...

Yes Daily games against random people and tournaments, but with that logic we could both be sitting with books and/or computers on the side as well, if we just want to create a perfect game, I doubt that's why people are here.
They're here to learn and play chess and get better at it, I don't think it's wise to use this tool since it'll make you fall apart in a real game since you wouldn't be allowed to use it.

That is how correspondence chess is like, it is just different to a live game. Daily is mostly good for learning opening lines, as you are encouraged to look at a database (without an engine evaluations) or a book, and it makes it easier for you to calculate with analysis board.

That's the point of correspondence chess. You can play many games at once and use books, and of course move pieces back and forth on the board (no need for analysis tool, you can use a real one). It is a great way to learn theory. Regarding conditions in real games, nothing prevents you from playing live as well. But I've found that correspondence has helped me with visualization of patterns, too.
I kind of agree. Maybe there should be a separate category for daily games without use of the opening lines?

How would that even be policed or enforced? There are already clubs that pledge not to use any resources in Daily Chess. That's always an option for players.

i had to switch to daily and i abused that analysis board- still made terrible moves but they were considerably better than in a live game
however, i was noticing that this feature was becoming a crutch and i, though i didnt realize at the time, was itching to play live
my daily games were going on 10 at once and i was blitzing moves like one would in a live blitz game
i would get frustrated when opponent didnt move right away even though his dang avatar had the “logged in” square
i finally concluded thar i like a chess game to be finished in one sitting- even if it is a 3+ hour classical game
there are tons of players that love daily and benefit from it
i am not one of those
if you dont want the analyze board just play a 60 min rapid if you want a longer one

I see many of you go live instead of daily, I just prefer daily now because I don't often find the time to sit through a long game all at once, guess I'll try to find the time, but I still think there should be an option of facing opponents in daily without the analyze feature.

The average 10|0 rapid game only lasts around 10 minutes. It really isn't that long.

Yeah but he probably wants to experience long game where he has time to think.
10|0 is nothing like it, he might find it frustrating after a few blunders.
@OP Try finding some of the clubs Martin suggested, where people play daily games that way, if that is what you desire. Apart from that, to have a normal chess experience of a classical game, you will have to play longer live games.
Correspondence chess (competitive one) was always this way - you could put physical board and play out moves before you send your final move, so even there you have analysis board option.

There should be a possibility to turn off the analysis board for both players in correspondence chess. The Chess Time-App offers this important feature and it should be implemented here too.

Correspondence has a very long history of of being able to use analysis boards and daily is an online version of it. A lot of serious Daily players place the positions on physical boards and no settings can prevent something like that.
There are some clubs that play Daily as if it was a live game with none of the normal daily allowed resources. Maybe joining one of those clubs and playing members there would fit what you want.
I don't understand why this is installed in the app, to be able to simulate all the moves you want as far as you want while playing the game, it's wrong, it isn't possible in real tournaments when you're sitting across from your opponent so it shouldn't be possible online.
If a player relies on that feature online then he/she will be quite worthless when he/she plays a real game face to face with someone.
That is part of what separates players, who is able to calculate the furthest in their minds and do it correctly, but if you use that feature then that part of the game dissappears.
I think there should be a box that you can click before starting a new game with the option "no analyze feature", so that both can play on equal terms.
I never use it in my games but it feels uneven because I'm quite sure that my opponent is using it, just my thoughts on it.
