Why is the king so weak in chess?

Like in all of the stories of ancient times, the rules because of all his supporters, If everyone died in a war king loses and the opponent wins the war. Here its war of brain and that's the reason king is so weak in chess.

umm not sure about that but at first 2 move we can mate
The King is fat and slow of course!
And like true royalty he hides in the corner until there is no danger anymore - only then does he march out to the middle of the board to display his bravery!
