My crappy little web search on Levy Rozman's worth came up with the following:
"...he's stated he hasn't made over $10 million in his entire career..."
It also says that he may make as much as a million/year from his on line whatnot. Nice money, but far from a billion, which is a thousand millions.
I think Levy can become a GrandMa.
He doesn't need to be a GM !
He's smart guy, speaks many languages, doing great financially and MOST IMPORTANT he's done already much much much more then any other GM popularizing chess to a large and different audiences.
Also people FORGET even he himself, that International Master title is no JOKE! It's very high, elite level title , pretty much a GM !
If he becomes GM people will not be satisfied and ask when do you become Super GM ....
Again IM is very respectable title and no joke !
He plays well but maybe he doesn't have a high enough rating

He's a millionaire. He's known all over the world. He has legeons of fans. He beats Gm's on title tuesday regularly. Hasnt been two weeks since he broke his all time blits rating.

And then you are here in a governed forum criticizing him for not being better at a game; while in the game of life He eon a long time ago.
He is not a GM because
- He has no GM norms. Three of them are required.
- He is rated below 2500 FIDE.
Achieving 2500 plus three norms require a lot of work, and still there is no guarantee of success, while he will be losing $$$ from his streaming stuff. So, my guess is that it will never happen.

That's it in a nutshell. He is not focused on improving at chess. He is focused on his book sales, business, entertainment by streaming, hanging out with the chess mafia etc. He is not a serious improver. So he hired a coach for some Spanish tournaments.... that helped him. But after that he went back to business. It's all about priorities, and to become a GM you have to make a lot of sacrifices in your life. Like giving up most if not all of the above until you become a GM. Maybe he is planning on doing that after getting some money in the bank? Only he knows. But time is ticking and the older you get, the harder is it to become a GM.

he has to do it now or never, he is getting old and he is still far away fro. the requirements for GM
He unfortunately didnt focus on chess during a critical time in his youth.
Still archieving GM level is now probably out of reach.

I think Levy does more for the chess world being an IM who is a famous streamer with a lot of fans. He will show up in people algorithms online and get more people interested in chess. Time he spends on trying to become a GM--which may or may not be guaranteed--is time he spends away from his content creation. He probably doesn't have much of an incentive to become a GM, nor does he really need too. He's successful enough without the GM title.
