I know the ones I play on here and the standard of sportsmanship is deplorable: abandoning games, offering draws when they're losing, putting abuse in the chat etc..

online is kinda where we are scraping the bottom of the barrel, regarding social skills.
i was amazed when i first started playing online, i was thinking “what attracts these plonkers to chess ?”

they dont know how play or are not good at it and hate seeing others playing and looking cool and clever. so they hate it

people do not like chess, when it is not a timed game, they think and re think their moves, and take a looooong time.
