Other people have said similar things. Sometimes chess.com messes with the ratings like that and everyone gains points. I don't know if that's what happened this time, but that's what it seems like.
Why ratings are so high by now?
Why do so many people fail to interpret ratings correctly?
I find it hilarious when people automatically assume that their ratings have increased just because of a sudden spike and then humblebrag about it. Rating spikes don't necessarily mean anything if they don't default a new average over the long term. Spikes are usually just part of arbitrary/random variation.
What counts is your average rating over an extended period of time, not the rating you have for a few days. Play for a few more months and verify your rating again. Pay attention to the curve over time on your statistics page. If it bounces back and forth between 1500 - 1700, this was just a spike from a lucky winning strike. Ratings are elusive.
From the midle of last month to now my rating in blitz just increased in 200 points (From an average 1550 to an average 1750)! But since I didn't have studied absolutely nothing it is very weird I got so many points in a short period...
Plus: the players with ~1700 doenst are so strong as they used to be...
Someone has any explanation??? It happened with you too?
