Why so bad in online chess?

I’m WAY better at normal chess than online, what is going on here?

It may be because the time control is different. In online chess you have time pressure and maybe not in online chess. Or, in person you are better than everyone you know who plays chess, and online you have access to so many more players who are better than you.
