Resolved: why was this game insufficient material?

It looks like a checkmate to me. Can somebody explain why I got insufficient material?

black don't have enough material to checkmate white and also one of you used up the time.

It wasn't checkmate.  White ran out of time before delivering mate.  The "insufficient material" is referring to black, since mating with a lone king is impossible.  Otherwise, white would have lost on time.

I'm guessing you ran out time first?  Normally you would have lost, but since all your opponent had left was his king, which is not enough material to mate, you got the draw.  Sucks, but better than a loss.

You ran out of time.  You didn't lose though because black had insufficient material to checkmate you. 

There was no mate on the board.

Correct. I made my move. Now looking back it doesn't appear it registered. I was pissed after this one. Thanks for letting me know, what a ripoff game...
