Will I be able to reach Master level?

Why? Wasn't the very last post before yours about "will I make master"?
I was just allowing myself a bit of poetry... you certainly can't object to that

I googled Smirnov courses and found a discussion about these on a chesspublishing forum. One thing they said there was that he emphasised that chess training should focus on one area for a number of weeks rather than attempting to cover a variety of topics simultaneously. This gives a better chance of making that knowledge stick, and that you need to know things so well they get into your sub-conscience.
This makes sense, but how do you apply this in practice?
This means, I suppose, you could for example practice tactics intensively. Or king and pawn endings. And then move on to something else, but only after a week or two.
But what if I'm reading a strategy book? This might have one chapter on Knight outposts, the next on minority attack etc - i.e. covering a variety of topics. Should I instead be focusing on just one strategic theme - say, the minority attack - for a week or two before moving on?
Would especially welcome the thoughts of strong players on this, or anyone who just has strong opinions on this

It's still mostly about how to improve at chess. At least it hasn't degenerated into a flame war about Bobby Fischer yet, like most discussions.
Yes, there is a chance that you might become a master of any level. But I can say for sure that you won't become a grand master. Sorry, for being rude but if you study all the GMs you can find that all the GMs are born with specific ability. The key is in their Genes. You can reach at certain level by hardwork but after that you will need born skills to go further.

I think he gave up chess,(OP), and took up poker and is a world class poker player and makes much more money then a chess master could ever make, next big game Las Vagas! Wonder how many books are out that tell you how to become a poker master?

Chess seems to be an ideal choice for obsessive-compulsives who enjoy self flagellation. They crave to be chess masters when they are doomed to a life as a frustrated patzer. (Hey...I am NOT talking about me!) They are a variation of Sisyphus:

That might be for some... those who have not figured out how to turn the treadmill on backwards ;)
<CookieMonster> That's a nice suggestion - the one about study buddies - although a bit hard to implement between the U.S. and Belgium. If you were living on the next street here, that's quite another story
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be?
Will I make Master? Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me:
Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Que sera sera
What will be will be
