I don't think so. The main reason is that there are not enough players over 2800 so point gains are so low for wins. His only chance would be if there was a surge of emerging players that effectively helped on another crash through 2800 as has happened in the past when six or so GMs passed 2820 together.

He is simply too far ahead of the field to make it mathematically possible.

You might have missed a couple of important news that happened in recent years. Magnus has practically retired from serious chess. The whole 2900 issue is gone and forgotten.

Magnus peak rating was 2889 in 2014 but at the same time, Fabi was over 2850 and Aronian was 2835. There were fears that ratings were being inflated because there were over 45 players 2700+

I am not sure if a correction was made but ratings are generally lower now. Chess.com ratings are of course, completely meaningless by comparison. My own grade here is over 200 points higher that I have ever been in 'real life'.
