Having reached 2400 in Bullet, I feel truly enlightened

Online Chess will be around as long as the being online exists.

I find myself gravitating to playing Chess.com Bots on-line over human type beings (eliminates the possibility of the opponent cheating, i.e.). I am guessing that on-line Bot playing for me will continue beyond 2030 ... if not, given my current personal trajectory ... I suppose I will be back to playing against laptop loaded chess software?

Yes, I believe that to be true. Chess sites continue to see growth and even if the popularity wanes, there will always be people playing chess online.

Of course not. Because what people think of as "AI" are LLMs and we are reaching the limit of what larger models are capable of. In it's current form it's a deadend technology. The cracks are already forming and investors are getting tired of pumping in hundreds of billions of dollars with zero returns. Plus LLMs are pretty bad at chess.

As for chess engines like stockfish, they've been around for quite awhile now and OTB is still alive and well. I don't think that will change anytime soon. And the idea that we'll all have computer chips in our heads anytime soon is make believe.

I severely doubt it. If this theory was true, Sam Altman wouldn't use the tech for meme video generation that loses 15 million/day, and ChatGPT wouldn't be introducing ads, when he said 2 years ago that ads would be an absolute last resort. 80% of businesses report no productivity gains. Most can't even use it because it's a security risk or because they need repeatability, not something that only works 10% of the time that you constantly have to fact check.

If LLMs were secretly amazing behind the scenes, everything wouldn't be on the verge of falling apart.

I doomscroll instagram reels for multiple hours a day and still have an attention span for chess

I want to encourage everyone to play Chess! It is a wonderful game & Chess.com is the best place to play chess online!

It's the best way to get better at Chess!

I started off as a 1891 level player who stepped away from Bullet for a while to learn from the GMs by studying them daily

3 years later, took a leap in ratings but lost to most 2100s then started playing more OTB & joined a Chess Team at school & started beating Titled players from the region

Beat some of the best Titled players in the region in blitz, then bullet

& now I'm a 2400 level player in Bullet who can beat possibly 2700 or above
