Will the 4 Million Dollars Chess Tournament overshadow the World Championship?

The $1 million, poker-style buy in chess tournament appears to be happening at the same time as the world championship match. Some western fans might be more interested in the high stakes tournament featuring Fabiano Caruana and Hans Niemann, rather than the world championship match between two Asian players. Especially considering that world championship matches can become tedious with their 8 hour long classical games, whereas this new poker-style rapid tournament will wrap up in a single day.

Personally, I reckon these poker-style tournaments could be more beneficial for chess than any world championship match. More people would likely get interested in chess if there were higher financial incentives involved. And let's face it, rapid games are way more fun for the audience than classical games.
