wind up chess clocks and "ticking" Annoying????

I'm old school, i like the old wind up type chess clocks....when i play with my soon to be wife, she claims the ticking sound is very annoying...hence we wind up using silent computer chess clocks......(no pun intended)  maybe its just me....i like pocket watches also....maybe its just me thanks for letting me vent.....please also check my newly updated public profile...i'd like to get the "views" up to 1,000..................

You forgot to "think out loud" - hence I think she's having a positive influence on you already. Maybe you should heed her preference.

Me? The only clock I use is a Java script. I suppose I could enhance it with sound.

Reply to kissinger  ,   wind up chess clocks were a real boon for mismatched players. One could play a half-hour game while the better player had only 15 mins ..  let's see that idea come to chess.com someday !!
