Winning streaks and losing streaks

I'm wondering if anybody else relates to this experience, but I have a habit of mainly having losing streaks and winning streaks. It is very strange and I am trying to make sense of it. Rather than, say, WWWLLWLWLLWLLWWLLLWLLW, I will have something like WWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Does anybody relate to this or is it just my stupid brain?

I have the same experience! Not me, this is the same for everyone. What is the reason? Chess.com rating algorithms. It doesn't allow you to go up or down more than a specified range in a given time. It means that engines are drive us. Horrible!

++ It makes sense. We all have good days and bad days because of non-chess related stuff: bad sleep, real life worries etc.
On a good day you focus well, you get a winning streak and your rating goes up.
Now with your high rating you get paired with higher rated opponents on a bad day resulting in a losing streak and you lose rating.
Now with your low rating you get paired with lower rated opponents on a good day and you get a winning streak and your rating goes up.

I can relate. Maybe not as extreme as your example too often.. but streaks for sure. Some days the mind is clicking, and some days I overlook the most basic things over and over.

The cure: whenever you lose a game, stop playing and analyse your lost game first. That will stop the mental tilt.
