Women's Chess
Hou Yifan was in fantastic form at the time and many of us thought she would approach the 2700 level, but she hasn't played as well since the blitz loss to Short at Gibraltar, so Judit remains the best female player but sticks to her principles. fair play to her!
I just checked women ratings. Hou is world champ but Judit Polgar has a rating 100 pts higher. Will Judit be the next champion? When IS the ladies championship? (same situation as mens, Anand's the champ but Magnum is rated higher, go figure)
WC isn't determined (at least not directly) by rating points. Maybe it should be?

As with the men I think the World Championship has become less relevant than it was once upon a time. The next women's WC is in November, and the format is two-game knockout minimatches up until the "long" final of four games (64 participants).
