Yes, basically they are the same thing. It's from the book "Rapid Chess Improvement" by Michael de la Maza. A study plan for adult players. It came before the woodpecker method.

It's gimmicky nonsense. Improving cold, hard calculation is the way to go.
I've heard this before. I wonder if doing it with endgame puzzles would be more helpful
@pvzguy13 Yes, I think they are based on the same idea. Doing a group of 1000 puzzles 7 times until you memorize them. Tbh I don't see an upside to doing this over puzzle rush.
Any crazy improvement stories I should know about? Is it a waste of time to do the same puzzles over and over? Thanks for sharing.
