As much as possible Chess.com tries to follow standard OTB rules. What do you think would happen in a tournament if you suddenly whipped out a little magnetic set and started moving pieces around? If you want to be able to legally do that, then play Daily games (correspondence).
Would you consider this unfair?
I have never experimented with arrows. I assume that these are not visible to your opponent.
Even that feels as though it is as unfair as using your fingers over the board that few opponents would tolerate ![]()
I started playing chess online for the first time after almost a year of pandemic to keep in shape for when OTB chess returns. So far, I have played almost exclusively 15|10 and my grade has found its natural level.
I am soon going to increase this to 30 minutes to try to improve at which time, there would be time to play on a proper board which I greatly prefer.
I would never use computer assistance but I am not sure if I would be able to resist moving the pieces around for a 'clearer view' of the position four or five moves into a variation. This would be a bad habit because you wouldn't be able to touch anything in a real game... but would you consider this cheating?
