2500 FIDE
Would you rather be 2500 Rapid or 2500 Blitz

I would rather actually play the games and go on the journey of getting better. Whats the fun of being good at chess (or even just having the elo, not the skill. They never specified that you would have the skill of a 2500) if it just popped outta nowhere?
If I had to pick one tho, rapid.

2500 FIDE
why do u never play any games?
I'm nearly 70, blind in one eye and less than 50% vision in the other.
I only play very occasionally, because I find it a strain.
I'm currently playing a Vote-Chess game with my club (against another club) and we are one move from mate. The game started in June!
I'll be posting the game, with annotations, in the Game Showcase forum about 30 hours from now. That's when the server will process our mating move, and the game will officially end.

I'll check out that game when you post it!
I mean, rating is just a number, it indicates how well you have played in the past, not how well you will play in the future. The only way to really get better is to focus on enjoying and learning the game. Focusing on a specific rating while it might be motivation, can also take you down a depressive path where you are playing for the sake of a rating, and not because you enjoy the game.
2500 blitz...
Exactly!, blitz is seen as a harder and more respected format on this site, based on it being the most played time control, at least I think it is.

Rapid because due to the peculiar nature of chess.com ratings while at the lower ratings blitz is harder to get, when you get to the very high ratings there's a huge reversal and suddenly the rapid ratings get more impressive than blitz.
2500 rapid is enough to get you into the top 300 in the world on chess.com

Certainly most very good players don't like playing rapid on chess.com so that has to be factored into it, but still - 300 in the world in a game like chess on the most popular website would be a huge achievement and far beyond the reach of the vast majority of players.
