Would you rather be black or white?

I have a friend (with an 1800ish) rating who only likes to play black. when I asked him why he never played white, he said it is better to play black because he can pounce on white's flaws. I wonder what you rather be. If you had to play a game for your life, would you be black or white? And if you would not mind explaining why that would be great! Thank you all! :)

Who's a paedophile?  That was a quote from a chessplayer I posted.  The author didn't care about being black or white.  The miracle was a combinational gem he pulled to upset a higher rated opponent.

According to my stats here i win 57% of the time with white and 52% of the time with black. I prefer winning 57% of the time. I always feel much more comfortable in a game when i have white. I prefer d4 games and with white i can make sure it starts that way.
