Anyone who is on these forums with any regularity I'm sure has seen completely useless posts made for no other purpose than to pad the posters' points. Giving away stuff for points would only make this problem worse. I won't name names, but I'm sure many of us have one or two specific names in mind.

Well, if t-shirts were given out on a lotto basis you would eliminate the incentive for random posting etc.
Why not name names? Well, for one, it's against the rules. One of the rules of the forums here is to "be nice". Calling out someone specific and saying "hey baseballfan! I think your posts here are pointless and not at all worth reading!" is, in my opinion, not nice. Though even if it weren't against the rules, it's just bad form, in any place, in any forum, to attack someone like that. Disagreeing with someone is okay, but calling them out by name for no good reason is just plain mean.
