When I see a 960 tournament ad, there is a particular start position shown. Is this positon used on all the games and stages in the tournament? Or the start position randomly chosen for each game?

mm...I think the current way diminishes a part of Chess960 appeal, that is unpredictability. I request 960 LiveChess, hopefully with a long time-control. Because 960 1/0 is sillier than normal chess 1/0, while 960 15/10 would be more exciting than its normal chess counterpart. Anyway, thanks for your answer, TadDude.
