abandoned game

I have lost a game today because I was told that I had abandoned the game.  This cannot be right because I made the last move and I was connected throughout the game.  I would be very interested in an explanation.

Thanks

If you get disconnected from the live server process for a long enough time, even if it isn't your turn, it can result in a loss by abandonment. If you are playing on the app and leave the game screen, the same can happen.

I was not on the app and there was no disconnection.  I made the last move.

You can get disconnected from the backend server process and lose the game if the client does not connect. You local connection can be fine and you still Can get disconnected.

I'm not sure why the process does it when a player is not on the move, since a temporary disconnect at that point isn't making anyone wait.

Fixed? I'm pretty sure it is by design. You could always open a suggestion ticket to request it be done differently.

As others have noticed, there are a number of things that are by design, but still would like to be fixed.

Fixed usually implies something is not working as designed and need changes to work. That was the way I read that.

So, my suggestion, since it is likely a design decision, it isn't some that is going to be fixed unless the site decides to change the design. This why I proffered the idea of opening a suggestion ticket.

A design decision to disconnect players server side without notification or transparency mid game?

How do you notify a disconnected client? The client probably could be made more robust to more accurately register disconnects, with better notification, and a way to force reconnects. However, if the client is in a state where it thinks it is connected and the server sees it disconnected, there wouldn't be a way to notify.
