Alireza Firouzja's Chess.com account was temporarily closed due to an automated system initially flagging him as a potential cheater due to his rapid rise in rating as an untitled player. The system likely interpreted his success as improbable for someone without a title and automatically flagged the account. However, after manual review, his account was reinstated. It's also possible that other users, including grandmasters, reported his account for suspected cheating, which contributed to the initial closure
Account closure
Happened to my son today. Account closed for no reason. I know he didn't cheat because I was watching him play the entire month as we were travelling. Had to agree so he can set up 2nd account, couldn't get any answers. I dont know what is going on with chess.com as we paid for diamond package just a mth ago.

One of the options, on an account closure, is to appeal it. However, most appeals are not granted as the site doesn't close unless they're positive.
