Android app crashes. Steps to reproduce

I've been getting a lot of crashes in the chess android app when I try to start a new game. I'm running on a Android 6.0.1 on a Nexus 6p.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Start playing a chess match online (I usually play 5min games)
2) resign from the match after a few moves (i.e. after I hang my queen).
3) as soon as you confirm resigning the game press "new game" button as quickly as possible (this seems to increase the chance of crashing, but have had it crash after waiting a bit of time).
4) repeat steps 2-3 times until app crashes.

This still happens even after following steps to reinstall the app (and yes I followed step 4):
1. Enter your Android device’s settings.
2. Inside you should find Application settings (sometimes called application manager)
3. Locate and select the Chess.com app.
4. Clear the app data. (This step is extremely important, don’t skip!)
5. Uninstall the app, and re-install from the Google Play store.

I'm not too annoyed about needing to restart the app, but this causes me to abort the new game I was trying to create which annoys other users. Also and after playing extended period of time I'll start seeing a pop-up which will state "your account may be restricted due to aborting too many games."

Can you just try to slow down?

Ya, but chess is so much fun!
Like I mentioned I even get it after waiting a bit so it's not a perfect work around.
