Android App Lesson Videos shows only Black screen

Title says it.

I can't watch Videos(Lesson, Puzzle) in the App. It's only a black screen with working Sound. I cleared all data, uninstalled, checked network traffic with wireshark,... On the Website everything is working normally.

What's this?

Are you connecting directly to the Internet? I just tested and video is playing successfully.

What's your app version?

It's possible it's language related.

What do you have under More > Settings > Profile > Language .

If the first setting is off, try enabling it

I'm sorry but I don't understand that question. On the Website it's working.

Ah okay. I tried both.

Example: https://www.chess.com/lessons/endgame-patterns-2/pieces-and-pawns-2

Video plays without any Problem in any Browser. The app plays the Video with a black screen.

I just found out this is a known issue for some devices and staff are looking into solutions

I read on reddit, that many users seeing this issue in other Apps as well. A lot, including me, having Samsung or Sony Devices.

Same issue. On Samsung. Just adding so that the team is aware this is widespread
