Android Live Chess Time Lag
it's likely a mobile network issue. have you tried when connected to wifi?
I am on wifi, it's a wifi-only tablet. I'm on the same router as my PC.
Other than the current issue on Chess.com, what do you think about the Transformer? I've been thinking seriously about getting one.
It's my first tablet, but i like it a lot. It's more PC-like than most tablets. With the additional keyboard I have 2USB slots and an SD card reader. On the tablet itself I have a micro SD card slot.
The keyboard is really nice and is useful if you enter a lot of text.
One thing that isn't good is the speaker and microphone. The sound is good if you plug in a headset, but terrible without, and the microphone is not that great, sounds very tinny on the other side when I use Skype.
The other tablets in the running were the Galaxy Tab 2, but it's missing one or both of micro SD card and USB, and the Motorola Xoom. However, the latter is old and is due for a replacement.
I have the same issue using a tablet, there is about a 5 second runoff on my clock after I move until the clock switches to my opponent. Oh, and this is from the same wifi that my other computers are, yet they have no issues... just the Android app.
I also have a transformer tablet with the same issue (it is honeycomb). The lag is so bad that the app is unplayable. I have tried on two wifi networks, so this is NOT a network issue.
Currently I can't even try to play, I get an error. I can log in, but when I try to play it says something like "connection error" every time.
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1: Playing a 3 minutes game I lose about 8-15 seconds per move and in the end lose the game on time.
I am also connected via WiFi. The app is currently not useable at all for me.
Any solutions would be highly appreciated.
Hello, im playing with huawei G8 cellphone latest android, with full internet connection (either wifi or 4G). never got any problem until the past few weeks. I usually play 3/2, but i cant any more because time lag is at least 3-4 seconds. any body having same problem? how do i contact tech support?
Hi
I'm just trying live chess on my Asus Transformer, latest Android, and it's unplayable because the timer is very wrong.
I usually play 2/2, and if I try that I lose on time. Sometimes I can lose 15-20 seconds per move, even though I play the move instantly. Even on 2/5 I always lose on time, and I never have lost on time via my PC.
Is this a known problem?
Mike
