Same issue..... just got kicked off in the middle of a live game on my Web browser (Windows IE 9.0).  I also stay logged in for turn based games on my iPhone and iPad.  Is there a fix?

Same issue for me today, just one time, it was during the game of ACEChess with Elysium.

Since it doesn't happen reliably, I haven't tried logging out/in. Note that I sometimes log in to live chess from the iOS app and sometimes from my desktop.

Try logging off one device before using the other. Just be logged in on one. If you're being thrown off live because your iDevice is detecting another login, it could be its because you're logged on via pc aswell.

*hoshor, the 'another login is detected' will only affect live chess.

You can be logged in on the main site (turn based games) from two devices, but you can only log into live chess from one device/one browser/one iDevice at a time.

another login has been detected message i got when i try access live chess. how to fix it?

kohai

Example:  If I log into live chess, i open a new tab to view someones homepage, i use that new tab to go into live chess - then the previous tab will show 'another login detected'.

It means i'm trying to log into live chess when i'm already in there.

Why can't the second log-in attempt be denied, instead of logging the first one off? I'm guessing the answer is so that people that forget to log off on a different computer can still access live chess.

I have the problem on laptop and desktop. It makes playing impossible.

I'm thinking of going to a different site the problem is so bad.

FIX THIS [removed -- MOD] Chess.com.

Unacceptable performance.

Because this would make sense. And we can't have any of that.

I lost my three previous games because of a massage that comes while playing  '' another login detected'' and then it is restarting  ... help with this please ...

ANSWER: This doesn't stem from another instance of a log-in, but rather an open tab or browser window you've forgotten about.  I've found that having even a single extra Chess.com tab open on the same computer is enough to cause this problem.

That might be *a* reason, but it is not the only reason. I keep getting the same problem, and I only ever have one tab at a time open on chess.com. The only fix I've found is to clear my entire cache and restart my browser, though I have also tried contacting the site's support staff. I got fuck all response, and continue to suffer from this problem. There may be an acceptable reason for this, but given that nobody got back to me, it's difficult not to get the impression that they just don't give a fuck. It's a hugely annoying issue, and most infuriating when it causes live chess to auto-resign the game you're in the middle of. The result is that I rarely play live chess anymore because this issue just crops up randomly, and when it does it takes all the fun out of playing.
