best win rating did not go up...

I won a rated 10 min. game by resingnation and my best win rating did not go up. Why would this happen if their rating was higher than my previous best win?

chessbeginner77

I think their overall rating (after the loss) has to be higher than the rating of your previous highest rating opponent.

Post the url of the game where you beat someone rated higher than 861.

Blitz

Highest: 1200 (18 Nov 2011)
Avg. Opp.: 712
Best Win: 861 (jpppmc)

That game is too short to count for ratings.

Ok thanks. Do you happen to know how long or how many moves are required for it to count?

chessbeginner77

Did you see a rating increase? The minimum moves seems to be 4. But resigns count regardless the number of moves. Hopefully someone else can clarify.

Incorrect information: The game is long enough to count.

"Resign- Affects ratings immediately after the abort option is gone (one move)"

Appears there is a little lag in the updating.

The minimum number of moves for timeouts is three and a half (7 plies). Not four moves as stated in the help entry.

KansasCityChiefin

Yes, my overall rating increased by 10 points but my best win rating did not. I wonder why it works like this and why and what the minimum number of moves it is for it to count? Thanks for the info.

chessbeginner77

Ok. I was not aware of that possibility. Apologies for giving incorrect info on the 5- move rated game.

KansasCityChiefin

Lag in the updating seems to make sense but I've played a game since then increasing my overall rating and also did a hard reset and refreshed the page several times and still only my overall rating increased while the best win rating did not.

KansasCityChiefin

Sorry if I took that wrong... I don't know what "the gnomes" is
